Weekend Recap: Pamper Time, Shopping, & Graduation

Hey everyone! It's Monday again...................... back to the daily grind!

We had a pretty good weekend despite the rainy and dreary weather. I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend as well. We have a 3 day weekend coming up! yay!

For part of my Mother's day gift, I got a gift certificate to my favorite nail salon. Since my nails and feet were looking pretty bad, I booked a mani/pedi appointment for first thing on Saturday morning. It felt so good and relaxing to have a little chill time.

Later that night, we attended my cousin's graduation. I can't believe she graduated this year!! I am getting ollllllllllllllllllllllddddd. It will be my 10 year high school reunion this year. She is the class president and she had to do a speech. She totally rocked it! Callon barely made it through the hour or so long ceremony. Around the end, he started singing Happy Birthday (his favorite song) loud!! I was so embarrassed lol but it was pretty cute.

After the ceremony, we went out to eat at the Half Shell Oyster House to celebrate! It was so great to spend time with family and eat some pretty good food too!

On Sunday, we went to church and had a wonderful service. Later that day, we started on VBS preparations for our church. We had a great fellowship time, and we really got a lot done. I am getting really excited for our VBS coming up.

I hope everyone has a wonderful week!!

Friday Favorites

Happpppppyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy Fridayyyyyyyyyyyy!!! Yay! It has been a crazy, busy, and stressful week this week. I have been busy at work, and Callon has been sick all week. The steroids/antibiotics finally kicked in last night and he was soooo much better!

I am going to share some random favorites this week! It will be pretty short & sweet!  I hope everyone has a great weekend!

ONE

I had a little bit of time yesterday to browse at the mall before I met my husband. I went in looking for a  new dress, but of course I couldn't find one that I just loved. :( I found these shorts & I am obsessed! I must get them! They are Crown & Ivy brand at Belk. They are super comfy and they even come in coral! Being a plus size gal, it's hard to find shorts that I love. These are definitely going to be a staple for summer.

TWO

I am wanting to start exercising more (hopefully daily), but my goal is to do it at least 4 times a week. I've been looking into getting a FitBit so I can keep track of my steps and hopefully it will give me a motivation to see my steps in numbers. I can't decide what kind I want though. Does anyone have one? What do you suggest??

THREE

DWTS!!! The finale is next week & I am so excited! I'm not a dancer, but I am obsessed with this show!

FOUR

Guess what comes back on Monday night???????????????????????????? The Bachelorette! I  have been counting down alllllll week!

FIVE

I am always looking for ways to save money, and I LOOVVEE and am a sucker for wooden door hangers for my house! I just can't keep spending $50 a pop every time so I decided to make one! It's not perfect, but I love it! :)

A Day out with Thomas

Happy Thursday Everyone! I spoke on Friday about our Day out with Thomas this past weekend. I have been meaning to do this post all week, but Callon has been sick with bronchitis so I have been slacking. We took Callon to a Day out with Thomas this Saturday in Calera, AL. It was sooo much fun, and it totally made his day to see Thomas or (Momas) as he calls him.

I left work early on Friday due to it being graduation day on campus. We left around 5 and headed straight for AL. We arrived at our hotel at around 9:30 that night. The drive went pretty smooth, and it was the perfect amount of time to travel. We had to stop once for food and once for a diaper change. Callon did perfect! He slept most of the way.

We booked a night at the Wynfrey Hotel in Birmingham. It was a super nice hotel, and it was connected to the Riverchase Galleria Mall. It was nice to get to sleep in a little later that morning instead of being on the road driving. I am so glad we decided to go ahead an drive up the night before.

After we got up, we decided to go explore the Galleria mall for a little while. Our train ride was a 3 so we had plenty of time to grab a bite to eat and explore. Callon loved our hotel and was amazed at everything. We decided to take Callon to build a bear and let him "build" his own special animal. He quickly chose a dog to make. They had all kinds of accessories that you could purchase for your animal. Of course, Callon had to have the hat and a ball. We asked Callon to come up with the name for his new friend... He thought for a second and quickly chose "Dog" for the name. How creative! ha ha!

After we finished at the Galleria, we checked out of the hotel and headed for Calera, AL. It was about a 30 minute drive from our hotel to there. Once we got there, it started sprinkling rain, but it quickly stopped shortly after. We checked in at the information tent, and they gave us a paper to get stamped at 4 stations for a free prize. They had a tent set up for a gift shop, imagination station, tattoo staion, video viewing area, and a place to meet Sir Topam Hat. They also had a man singing songs, games, sand area, bubble area, and other activities.

We let Callon visit each area until we had to be in line for our train ride. We got tickets for the Open Air car which was the car directly behind Thomas. Our ride wasn't too crowded so it was perfect! We absolutely enjoyed it & I hope to go back next year for this event!

The ride lasted for about 30 minutes, but Callon did not want it to end! He was not happy that we had to get off the train. Once we got off, we stood in line to take photos with Thomas.

We even took a family photo with Thomas!

I highly recommend this event! It certainly did not disappoint! I will put a link below for you to check to see if he will be in your area!

Callon's 2nd Birthday Party

We celebrated Callon's 2nd Birthday a few weeks ago. I can't believe my sweet baby is already two! We were going to celebrate his birthday the weekend of his birthday, but we had a lot of things going on that weekend so we pushed it back a week.

We had his party at our house again this year. We were going to have it at a local community center, but we decided to have it at our house since Callon loves playing outside.

We rented a bounce house/slide for the day so there would be something fun for him to do. We kept the guest list pretty small and invited family, church family, and a few friends. I kind of went overboard last year so I wanted to keep this year pretty simple.

The Details

Theme: Choo Choo Callon is Two. I kept it so simple this year! Instead of getting invites printed, we just made a Facebook invite!

Food: I kept it pretty easy this year. We did pulled pork sandwiches, baked beans, chips, and fruit. For the kiddos, we did pizza, sour patch kids, powdered do-nuts, Cheetos, and rice crispy treats. I had tea, bottled water, and sodas. Plus,we had the cake.

Décor: I used a lot of his toy trains to decorate with along with just reds, and blues. I had some balloons to hang, but I didn't really read the listing very well on ebay. They didn't float.. whoops.. oh well! Everything doesn't turn out perfect! I also purchased signs and the tent card from etsy. I took some pictures of Callon in a train outfit & I used those to sit around. I didn't decorate the tables that the guests sat at because it was kind of windy that day & everything would fall over.

The cake was made by our cousin.

I got Callon's shirt from a shop on Instagram. You can find them here.

In typical toddler fashion, he wouldn't look at the camera at all!

We had so much fun celebrating our little guy! I can't believe he is 2!

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday Everyone!! I am so ready for the weekend! It seems like our weekends are jam packed here lately. We had Callon's birthday party last weekend and this weekend we are going out of town. Next weekend,  we have my cousin's graduation and the weekend after will be devoted to VBS prep at our church. whew! I'm already tired.

ONE

For one of Callon's birthday presents, we bought him tickets to a Day out with Thomas in Calera, AL. I can't wait to see his face tomorrow when he sees this in person! We have been reminding him all week about going to ride the train this weekend, but I don't think he really grasps what we are talking about.

TWO

I found this awesome drink dispenser from Walmart this past weekend for Callon's party. It was under 15 bucks! I love it! I've been needing one for a while, but I never really bit the bullet. I always just borrowed one from my mom.

THREE

Callon got this game for his birthday this past weekend. We have played this a couple times this week. We LOVE it! It is a great game to get for your toddler! It will help them learn emotions, colors, numbers, etc. You can find it here. Roll and Play Game

 FOUR

I have been trying to eat healthier here lately, and I struggle with breakfasts. I am just not a breakfast person. I could do without it. I recently found this yogurt at a local grocery store. I am obsessed with it! It tastes just like a piece of Lemon pie. (PLUS ITS only 100 calories!!) You should try it!

FIVE

My Memory lane post!!! You can check it out here! memory lane
It was so fun to look back at all my 90's memories and favorite things!

I hope everyone has a great weekend!!! I am linking up today with Christina and Momfessionals
