Friday Favorites

Happy Friday Everyone!! I am so ready for the weekend! It seems like our weekends are jam packed here lately. We had Callon's birthday party last weekend and this weekend we are going out of town. Next weekend,  we have my cousin's graduation and the weekend after will be devoted to VBS prep at our church. whew! I'm already tired.

ONE

For one of Callon's birthday presents, we bought him tickets to a Day out with Thomas in Calera, AL. I can't wait to see his face tomorrow when he sees this in person! We have been reminding him all week about going to ride the train this weekend, but I don't think he really grasps what we are talking about.

TWO

I found this awesome drink dispenser from Walmart this past weekend for Callon's party. It was under 15 bucks! I love it! I've been needing one for a while, but I never really bit the bullet. I always just borrowed one from my mom.

THREE

Callon got this game for his birthday this past weekend. We have played this a couple times this week. We LOVE it! It is a great game to get for your toddler! It will help them learn emotions, colors, numbers, etc. You can find it here. Roll and Play Game

 FOUR

I have been trying to eat healthier here lately, and I struggle with breakfasts. I am just not a breakfast person. I could do without it. I recently found this yogurt at a local grocery store. I am obsessed with it! It tastes just like a piece of Lemon pie. (PLUS ITS only 100 calories!!) You should try it!

FIVE

My Memory lane post!!! You can check it out here! memory lane
It was so fun to look back at all my 90's memories and favorite things!

I hope everyone has a great weekend!!! I am linking up today with Christina and Momfessionals

Girl Chat: Makeup & Beauty Favorites

1. Clinique Moisture Surge: This was definitely one of my splurge items on my list of favorites. I absolutely love it, & I will probably never buy another moisturizer again. I tried several, but they always left me feeling greasy. I love the way this one makes my skin feel.

2. OPI Gel Nail Color: I love to get my nails done with the OPI gelcolor. It stays on my nails for about 2 weeks after I get  them done. OPI has the best colors, and it's nice to not have to re-paint every few days because of chipping.

3. Wet n Wild Highlighting Powder: I am a very low maintenance girl, and I go for the cheap stuff most of the time!! I found this powder at a local CVS for under 5 dollars. I decided to give it a try, and I love it. It is just enough of highlight for me.

4. Beauty Blender: I love applying my makeup with this.

5. Wet Brush: I will never own another type of brush again!! This brush is the best brush I have ever owned. It is so nice not to have tangles. I get mine at the local TJ Maxx. I have several that I keep handy.

6. Maybelline Dream Fresh BB: Since I am low maintenance and I don't like a lot of makeup on, I found this to give me a little bit of coverage. I am loving this so far.

7. Philosophy Purity Made Simple Cleanser: I love that this is a one step cleanser. It is another splurge item for me, but I love it.

8. Victoria's Secret Bombshell Perfume: I absolutely love this perfume. It is my favorite perfume right now. I usually ask for this for Christmas each year, and my husband normally gets me the biggest bottle they sale. It lasts me almost the whole year normally. I'm curious though... What are some more of your favorite perfumes? I am wanting to branch out this year.

9. NYX Butter Gloss: I have the cupcake color in this. I love it, and the color is perfect for spring and summer!

I am linking up with Lindsay for Girl Chat today. I am going to try to make sure I link up for this every month.

I love this week's topic, and it was so fun to take a look down memory lane at what were my favorites! I am sure there are more that I do not remember, but I will show you the highlights of what I do remember.

FAVORITE CHILDHOOD TV SHOWS & MOVIES

When I was younger (I am going to say around 3-5 not sure exactly!), I LOVED Barney!!  I remember one year my mom even gave me a Barney themed birthday party. She had someone come and dress up as Barney so my friends and I could meet him! I love you... You love me.. We're a happy family.. with a  great big hug and a kiss from me to you won't you say you love me TOO!....... Now, I am going to have the song stuck in my head! ok.. everyone's head that is familiar with the song.

As I got a little older, I loved Full House! I still love this show and the Fuller House on Netflix!! Did you love this show too??

MATILDA!! I loved this movie growing up. I remember watching this with my cousins ALLLLL the time. My uncle would pick on us saying he was going to get Miss Trunchbull ahold of us!

I also loved any Mary Kate & Ashley movies! I know I had TONS growing up. I know I had probably all of the movies just about ever made! They were my favorite!

I also remember loving The Babysitters Club movie & The Parent Trap!

CHILDHOOD TOYS & GAMES

 .
When I was younger, I loved to play with Cabbage Patch Dolls & Barbies! I had tons of them! I remember even trying to "cut" their hair and dye it (w/markers) :) I also collected TY Beanie Babies when I was growing up. I'm sure a lot of you did too!

Does anyone remember the DoodleBear??? I loved mine growing up. You could draw all over it and then just wash it in the washing machine and start again!

Candyland and Life were my favorite games growing up as a young child. As I got older (young tween), I loved playing the Dream Phone game?? Did anyone else play this?

When the Playstation came out, my all time favorite game that I remember was Frogger!

BOOKS

I loved reading these American Girl books when I was younger I would also look at the catalogs and make a wish list of what I wanted. Does anyone else remember these??

Junie B Jones was another favorite collection of books I had!

Last... But certainly not least! I absolutely LOVED these books! I think I had just about every one of them in the series!

MUSIC

These were my favorite CD albums that I remember having growing up!

RANDOM

Does anyone else remember having the inflatable furniture in your room?? I had a bright blue chair like this one in my room! I was so proud of that thing!

I also had a lava lamp in my room that I loved. I'm sure a lot of you had one too!

Wow!! I really didn't anticipate I would have a post things long! It was so fun to go down memory lane to look back and remember my favorite things!

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday Everyone!!! We made it through the week!!! Whew! It has been a crazy busy week for us! Callon's Birthday is tomorrow so it has been very hectic getting it all together! Luckily, my work has been pretty calm this week so that helps.

ONE
I took a few pictures of Callon this week to have to set around for his party. I am no photographer, but I think they turned out pretty cute!

TWO

I love shopping off of Facebook groups and preorder pages. I am really loving the Smocked PolkaDot lately. The train outfit above is from there. I also got this outfit for Callon. He wore it yesterday for his class pictures at daycare. I will post the link below! I also adore the new Sun San Sailor sandals for boys! I got Callon this tan pair and navy!

THREE

I recently bought this BB cream from the local drug store. I love how light it is, and it the perfect amount of coverage.

FOUR

I was needing some new summer sandals for this year, and I never could find any that I just loved and was comfortable. **Even though it is like 45 degrees here in South MS in May which is crazy! I feel like I shouldn't even be talking about sandals. Anyways... I finally found these!! I love them! I have them in brown and black.  What are your favorite sandals for summer???

FIVE

I recently was able to catch up on some TV episodes this week. I started watching the HGTV Home Town show and I LOVE it!! It is set in Laurel, MS which is about an hour from where I live. How cool is that??? I love Erin's sense of style and the way she incorporates the old and antique items in the houses. I highly suggest you check it out if you like Chip & JoAnna's Fixer Upper show.

I hope everyone has a great weekend!! I can't wait until 5pm this afternoon so I can get off. It will be hectic since I have Callon's party this weekend, and I will be trying to get everything cleaned and prepped for his party. I can't believe I have a 2 year old now!! He has grown up too fast!

I am linking up for the 5 on Friday & Friday Favorites again this week! I am also linking up for the first time with Oh Hey, Friday! and  High 5 for Friday!

20 Facts About Me

I thought I would do a post to give a little insight into who I am. Here are 20 random facts about me!

1. I love math and working with numbers. --- I am an accountant by day at a local University. I absolutely love my job. I know some people hate to work with numbers all day and find it boring, but it is truly my niche. I am weird I know :)

2. I play the piano. --- I am currently taking piano lessons once a week. I used to take piano lessons when I was the 3rd grade. For some reason I stopped, and I always regretted doing so. I have been taking lessons for about 9 months now, and I absolutely love it. It is like a stress reliever. I do struggle with finding time to practice with a toddler, but I love it when I get to. I am not an advanced player yet. ( I am still on Level 2 books).

3. I am an only child.

4. I am a preacher's wife.-- When I was younger, I never in a million years thought I would be where I am today. My husband was a preacher before we started dating. He wasn't a pastor, and he was taking time off at the time we met. After we were engaged, my husband decided to start preaching again. While it has its challenges, I wouldn't trade it for the world. We have been blessed to meet some wonderful people over the years whom we love. We stay so busy each week, but it is what God has planned for us.

5. I struggled with infertility.---PSA(may be TMI) My husband I decided about a year or so after we were married that it would be ok if we got pregnant. I always had troubles with my cycle being irregular growing up, but I didn't think anything of it at the time. As time passed, we started actively trying. After many failed tests, I decided to go see my OBGYN to see what was going on. After ultrasounds, I was found with PCOS. I have always been overweight and had other issues so being diagnosed with this made everything make sense. I was put on birth control to help with the polycystic ovaries. After a few months, my doctor told me that I could stop and start trying again. I did 3 rounds of Clomid and 1 round of Femera. We got pregnant after the first round of Femera.

6. I love Mexican food!--It literally is my favorite food ever!! I could eat it everyday of the week and be fine! My favorite things are fajitas, fajita nachos, queso, bistec la Mexicana (It's a steak dish with pico), salsa, and enchiladas.. YUM!!

7. I only drink water---About 3 months ago, I gave up soft drinks and other things. I only drink water now! I feel so much better and I have lost about 15 lbs!

8. I hardly ever wear makeup-- I know I know! I usually just put on some tinted moisturizer and lip gloss and go! I am a quick and easy kind of gal!

9. I loathe cooking, but I love baking!--- I enjoy making sweets and desserts, but I dread cooking meals. It is just something that I don't love doing.

10. I am semi-unorganized at times.-- I am really trying to work on this habit this year. I have become so much better at it as far as my house goes. I just need to work on organizing my purse and organizing meal plans each week.

11. I love to shop!-- I am perfectly content shopping, shopping, shopping and shopping. I love online shopping too! My wallet nor my husband likes this habit I have.

12. I love watching Youtube Vlogs.--I recently have become obsessed with watching vlogs this past year or so. I will do a post soon on some of my favorites that I subscribe to.

13. I really dislike amusement park rides.--I am not sure if this is because of heights or what, but I just do not enjoy them at all.

14. My middle name is Amanda.

15. When I was younger, I was obsessed with frogs.---I had my room totally decorated in frogs. I had them everywhere.

16. In high school, I was the editor for our yearbook!-- I loved working on the yearbook. I loved designing and taking photographs!

17. My first time to fly was my senior year in high school.-- We went to Hawaii for my dad's business trip! It was by far a vacation of a lifetime. I would love to go back there one day. If only I can convince my husband to get on a plane!

18. I was the first grandchild on my mom's side to graduate from college.--I have 5 older cousins, and I was the first one to graduate!

19. I love to help organize our VBS at church.-- I really enjoy organizing, decorating, planning, and teaching at our VBS or even in Sunday School.

20. I spend way too much time on my cell phone and watching TV.-- I really need work on this more and go unplugged.

Planning: Callon's 2nd Birthday Party

Hi Everyone! I hope you have all been doing great! I know I have been MIA for a little while a long time!! I have been so busy with work, piano lessons, Callon's 2nd Birthday, planning VBS for our church, and other things. Since Callon's party is this weekend, I thought I would share a bit about how I plan a 2nd birthday party after you choose a date.

1. Location.. Location.. Location: We originally planned to have it at a local community center. However, we kind of waited a little too late to book one with graduations and everything going on. So, we are having at our house. It actually works out perfect since all of Callon's toys are there.

2. A Theme:  We are doing a train theme for his 2nd birthday. I was going to do Little Blue Truck or Trains so I let him pick. Of course, Callon chose trains. He loves Thomas (Momas as he says). I would recommend looking at pinterest and thinking outside of the box. We are doing Choo Choo Callon's 2!

3. A menu: We are doing a lunch time party so I am keeping it easy and simple. We are having pulled pork sandwiches, baked beans w/ hamburger meat, chips, fruit, treats (rice crispy treats, sour patch, and others), cake (of course!), and drinks (water, tea, juice for the littles.)

4. Décor: We are keeping it simple this year. I am doing reds, navy, blues, and white mostly for the colors. I found some cute printables on etsy. I will link below. I am going to have some of his toy trains set up on the tables. I also will have a lot of balloons, but that is about it. Easy peasy! Instead of invites, we just did a Facebook event page to invite our friends. It was easy and free!

I can't wait until Callon's party this Saturday! I will definitely post pictures after and share more info!

Thanks for stopping by to read my rambles!
